This iconic venue in northern New York State is famed for hosting the Winter Olympic Games in both 1932 and 1980. In addition to the many hundreds of miles of trails in the region, Whiteface Mountain has annually hosted the Wilmington Whiteface 100k and 50k Mountain Bike Race, so a round of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup will further cement the region’s reputation as a world class mountain biking destination.

The UCI’s debut at Mt Van Hoevenberg is one of 15 weekends of racing in a global series that spans 10 countries and tests pro riders across a wide range of courses and climates as they look to accumulate points toward an overall championship.

CROSS-COUNTRY SHORT TRACK
Put a pack of the world’s most highly motivated, highly skilled racers on a condensed track over a shorter distance, and watch excitement shoot sky high. XCC races are scheduled at the start of a race weekend, and the results decide the start order for the XCO races to come. It’s extremely fast-paced with loads of action!

CROSS-COUNTRY OLYMPIC
As the only mountain bike racing format in the Olympic Games, the XCO discipline at Mt Van Hoevenberg will see many riders just coming off the 2024 Paris Summer Games. The race’s mass start will send a pack of the world’s best riders going hard and fighting for position on a track that will put their amazing abilities to the test. A set number of laps with strikingly steep climbs made to induce pain followed quickly by downhill stretches that will test the full range of bike handling skills.

CROSS-COUNTRY MARATHON
Cross-country Marathon sees racers compete on grueling 100km courses. Not only is a racer’s endurance tested, but also their ability to adapt to different terrain, as well as being able to play the mind games of racing in a fast-moving pack. Are you ready to see how grueling this sport can get?

SPECTATING
Multiple spectating areas will be available throughout the course. Easily accessible viewing is located in the stadium, and is accessible from the Expo area or the Mountain Pass Lodge. Those up for a hike are encouraged to explore the course featuring large spectator areas above the Stadium and at the Reservoir. Designated crossing areas will help you navigate the course safely.
