P2A Pre-Ride Maps

People always want to know where the race courses are. Simply put they are more or less the same as last year. One deletion for the Cento and Classic racers, and a new section for everyone close to the finish. All will be revealed before you know it.

We always want to give folks a taste of the countryside that they are going to be racing through. For many years we have had a variety of pre-ride maps available at http://www.parisancaster.com/Preridesmap.html They range from a 10km quick loop to a 99km point to point. NEW FOR 2025 – WE HAVE MADE THESE ROUTES AVAILABLE THROUGH RIDEWITHGPS. This will allow you to easily download the routes to a GPS or a phone and have turn-by-turn navigation.

DON’T BE TEMPTED #1 – WET TRAILS Overall it is still too wet to ride the rail trails. We had a year’s worth of snow in a week. Then we had a lot of rain March 15-16. If you ride them now you will leave ruts that will likely persist until race day. Stick to pavement now please. As has been the case since the beginning of the P2A the climb on Old Martin Road is a crucial part of the course. Right now the lower section from Mineral Springs Rd up to the big rocks is a bog. Please stay out for now. There are also migrating salamanders here and they need all of the help they can get.

DON’T BE TEMPTED #2 – PLEASE DON’T TRESPASS Over the years we have depended on a few sections of private property (mostly off road) to link up the roads on the race course. The course wouldn’t be what it is without these private lands. Most importantly we only have permission to use these private lands on race day. If you trespass we run the risk of losing the access and it can cause us huge problems with rerouting. Over the years we have had a few selfish racers trespass. We have excluded them from the race as a result. Then we had to patch our relationship with the impacted land owners. We really don’t want to go there again. Please don’t trespass.
