September 3, 2024 - (Viborg, DEN) The EuroVelo & Cycling Tourism Conference, the largest yearly professional event gathering all actors involved in the cycling and tourism sectors, is taking place from September 23-25 in Viborg, Denmark.

Don’t miss the Welcome Reception on Sept. 23 as the Municipality of Viborg invites all participants to the Viborg Town Hall for a welcome drink to start three days of learning and networking.

Keynote speeches, panel discussions, and exchange of best practices are on the menu of the main conference day on Sept. 24. Framed by the theme ‘Legacy and Localhood’, the EuroVelo Conference 2024 will discuss citizens’ engagement, events, quality of cycle routes and cycling culture as a whole.

The touristic programme offers five different technical visits on Sept. 25 including cycling tours showing both the city of Viborg and the surroundings, as well as visits to some of the “must see” sites in Viborg. You can rent a bike, if you are not bringing your own.

The newly renovated Congress Center Tinghallen is the venue and has pre-reserved a large number of rooms at Hotel Peak12, the Golf Hotel and Palads Hotel for the EuroVelo Conference delegates and offers an easy booking at good prices. Viborg also offers a wide range of hotels and hostels – all within walking or cycling distance from the venue, allowing delegates maximum flexibility during the event.

Ideally situated on The Ancient Road in the middle of Denmark, Viborg is a vibrant and modern city that has a unique Danish history dating more than 1,000 years back. The former capital of Denmark with the world’s largest granite cathedral, it features The Cycle Star (Danish: “Den midtjyske Cykelstjerne”), an ambitious network of cycling paths, and the Viborg Trail Arena that offers more than 100 km of mountain bike tracks all over the municipality.
